Hvar Gourmet's green-gold is worlds away from typical, store-bought olive oil. It is jam-packed with health-promoting, anti-inflammatory polyphenols (anti-oxidants) and we pick our olives early in the season to accentuate these life-giving characteristics.
Our latest batch (the olive oil in this Kickstarter) was confirmed by the University of Athens to have an eye-watering antioxidant content 2433mg per kg -- this well over 30 times the antioxidant content of a typical off the shelf olive oil!
This comes at a cost both in yield (green olives yield less oil than over-ripe olives) and time (the olive must be hand-picked), but we are sure you will taste and feel the difference. Stretch goal 1: 7,500€ -- We will package extremely pungent, wild (and of course organic) oregano from our family farm and make it optionally available to backers during the end-phase of the Kickstarter. We will also make it available in our US and EU online shops for the indefinite future.
Stretch goal 2: 10,000€ -- We will package our wild (and of course organic) rosemary from our family farm with the same availability as the aforementioned category.
Stretch goal 3: 15,000€ -- One Giant Leap for healthy oils! We will bring extremely healthy and tasty roasted pumpkin seed oil from Austria. This pumpkin seed oil is world famous for its taste and health properties and we will bottle and ship it with the same extreme transparency as our olive oil. What's more, this healthy habit-forming oil (great for dressings and even on scrambled eggs) will be available in our US and EU online shops for the indefinite future.
